We are situated at the centre of the Queen Mother Building, Dundee University. It is located in front of the Union and extremely noticeable from its circular architecture with a vast amount of large glass windows.
To arrive here from the train station head left upon exiting and follow the road until you reach a round-about at which point turn left and you will get to the university campus.
No - part of the fun is learning new skills! You don't need to study Computing or have any coding experience to join in. A wide variety of skillsets is encouraged to join.
No. You're allowed to think about what you want to do, but starting on the project before Quackathon is strictly not tolerated.
Quackathon starts at 10AM on Saturday 8th March and ends at 2PM on Sunday 9th March. We will release a more detailed schedule closer to the event.
Absolutely. We may need to check you out of the building for security reasons, but you are free to come and go as you please.
No! We will provide you with Food and Drinks for the entire event (including snacks and midnight pizzas).
You are encouraged to take regular breaks. We will have a quiet room available for you to rest if you need to.
Quackathon is completely free to attend!
You can be alone or in a team of up to 4 people.
No worries! We can help you find a team either before the event or at the start of the event.
We will be providing partial-to-full travel reimbursement, depending on your region. We will release a form shortly after the event for you to put in your details and upload the receipt(s). We have the following caps: Scotland - £15, 150+ miles (e.g. Newcastle, Durham) - £50, 200+ miles (e.g. Manchester, Sheffield, London) - £60
Our venue provides computers, but you are welcome to bring your own laptop if you prefer. We also recommend bringing a sleeping bag, pillow, and toiletries if you plan on staying overnight.
You do! You own the intellectual property of the project you create. We won't take any ownership of your work.
